Davies and Doolittle led two of the first U.S. Army Air Forces offensive bombing raids of WWII.
In April 1942, Davies bombed targets in the Philippines, while Doolittle led the famous raid on Tokyo.
In 1945 Davies too led bombing raids against Tokyo.
